Mission
Our overall mission is to provide skills & leadership development with a focus on entrepreneurship, college & career readiness, motivating youth through multi-media platforms, and to stimulate public school alumni and corporate giving nationwide. As an extension to public schools Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs across America, our specific goals are to: 1) Empower at-risk youth economically through entrepreneur education, training, and workforce development; 2) Foster public schools’ alumni giving and networking opportunities; 3) Involve public schools’ alumni/corporate patrons in school district events and the community; and 4) Provide an Annual Alumni Excellence Award for Community Service to esteemed alumni who have not only achieved success in their professional endeavors but have impacted others by their generosity.
America’s Teen Mogul Competitions and Employment Readiness Workshops
Nick Cannon will host annual America's Teen Mogul (ATM) Summits, Student Business Plan Competitions (BPC) and Career Readiness & Training Workshops for "opportunity youth" (ages 16 to 24) nationwide designed to educate youth in middle skill career opportunities and global entrepreneur opportunities. The summits will feature business plan competitions and a panel of middle skill industry managers, bank executives, and entertainment business executives that will speak and answer questions.
Middle Skills and Entertainment Industry Summer Youth Employment Initiative
One of the goals of the Academy is to create training opportunities for our youth. The Academy's Middle Skill and Entertainment Industry - Summer Youth Employment Initiative is designed to create summer employment opportunities for youth in the field. The internships should be at least 25 hours each week for six weeks. We will also seek professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their industry knowledge, exposure, and teaching skills. Maintain a summer sabbatical where high school teachers will spend a summer in a priority sector industry or an entertainment related industry fostering a transfer of knowledge back to students.
Curriculum Development
The Academy will work cooperatively with school districts and community colleges nationwide to develop and/or integrate curriculum that will enhance youth knowledge, understanding, and awareness of business and professional career opportunities in the industries.

St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children
Multi-talented entertainer Nick Cannon has taken on many roles in his career – musician, comedian, producer, and beloved star of film, TV and radio. Yet he is most proud of his latest role, as Board Director of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. Nick was first introduced to St. Mary’s in 2013, when he was asked to emcee an event. At the time, he knew very little about St. Mary’s or the remarkable children entrusted to our care. All it took was one visit to our hospital and he was hooked. Inspired by the compassion and expertise of our caregivers and the resilience of our kids, Nick was eager to do more. Since that first visit, Nick has been a loyal supporter of St. Mary’s and an advocate for children with special needs.
He has used his celebrity status, contacts, and determination to open many doors for St. Mary’s Kids. He appeared in radio and television spots promoting the organization and asking for support. He launched a social media campaign, Nick’s Ncredible Kids of St. Mary’s with its own microsite, targeting his 5 million followers. Nick also joined the Board of St. Mary’s, where he helps to further our mission every day. In gratitude for his ongoing generosity, commitment, and advocacy efforts on behalf of St. Mary’s Kids, Nick was honored last October at St. Mary’s annual benefit dinner and concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, aptly named A Tribute to Nick Cannon.
Nick continues to be a familiar face at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, much to the delight of the patients. His most recent visit in March 2015 was to launch his new children’s poetry book,Neon Aliens Ate my Homework and Other Poems. Several poems in the new book were inspired by his interactions with St. Mary’s Kids.
